Campaign Story

Trevor and Courtney met as middle school history and English teachers and have grown as partners, educators, and friends ever since. Courtney is currently a Teacher Librarian in a public middle school and Trevor is a projectionist and programmer with two different independent cinemas in Seattle.

We have both always wanted to be parents and started trying for a child over 2 years ago. We were diagnosed with infertility due to Trevor’s low testosterone and thus very low sperm counts.

After all the waiting and appointments, we decided to go forward with IVF. We were excited that both our egg retrieval and Micro-Tese Surgery (a procedure that surgically removes sperm from the testes) went really well. Unfortunately, things rapidly declined in the lab and we ended with one abnormal embryo.

We reached out to a new clinic and lab and are very hopeful that a second round could be successful. This fundraiser would help support our second and hopefully much more successful round of IVF and hopefully lead to a family of our own! We are so ready to be parents and excited for this next step in growing our team!
