Campaign Story

My name is Anne and in 2014 I was single with that sinking feeling of the ticking clock and my deep desire for motherhood. So many feelings wash over of fear and shame but I knew I had to keep hope in my heart to the opportunity one day it would come true. So I decided to move forward with freezing my eggs until I met my future husband. That process in itself is especially emotionally challenging when alone as hormones are flooding you, as well as a very expensive endeavor. I was only able to afford two rounds of retrieval. I recorded my entire egg retrieval process. That hope turned into a reality that wonderful day in 2019 when I met the love of my life and the opportunity to begin the joyful journey to pursue embryos. We were so excited to start our baby journey and soon those eggs became embryos in 2020. Due to the unknown dangers of the pandemic with COVID and limited services with closures, we decided to wait to do the transfer. As we were finally in the clear in 2021, my mother underwent chemotherapy and it was too emotionally difficult for me to pursue the transfer. Today she is cancer free! After her journey, in 2022 my partner had a heart attack and had to have 4 stents put in his heart. Today he is also doing fantastic!

Needless to say, a lot of stops and starts and when that happens, all the tests have to be repeated. Now that my deepest support system is finally healed, we are ready to transfer those embryos. We have a group of embryos that genetically tested a grade A. But now another hurdle is that my work industry is currently on strike so we cannot accept jobs and that means I will not qualify for health insurance in time, which runs out at the end of October and I will need to begin Cobra.

Medical bills for a the transfers are almost the same if not more than the retrieval. I never imagined I would ask for help in this process but here we are, on our finale.
