Campaign Story

My name is Enisha Matthews, and I am married to Jerald Smith. As a teenager, I had a problem with uterine fibroids as a teenager and received two myomectomies in hopes that it would control the problem. But over time, the fibroids returned, which resulted in me receiving a hysterectomy at the age of 25; the hysterectomy did leave me with my ovaries.

My husband and I have been on a journey to extend our family from researching information and picking the right fertility clinic to applying for different grants and looking for insurance that would cover IVF. We are determined to find a way to have a child, but the cost can be daunting at times, but we are determined. In addition, we have been saving, but since we are getting older, time is of the essence.
