We’re Taylor and Shannon, and We Need Your Help to Bring Our Baby Home

“I’m so sorry. There is no heartbeat.” These were the tragic and heartbreaking words of our OBGYN speaking of our 4th miscarriage. For the past seven years, we have faced the heartbreaking pain of losing four angel babies to miscarriage. Each loss has been devastating, made even more difficult by Shannon’s struggle with severe Crohn’s disease. Every miscarriage triggers a flare in her condition, both physically, mentally, and emotionally. Our most recent loss was especially hard as it came just hours after an ultrasound that gave us hope of carrying to term to quickly make a turn for the worse.

We’ve always dreamed of starting a family together, and we still hold that hope in our hearts. We believe that God has a plan for us, and we do our best to keep our faith strong, knowing that someday a baby will be ours. Even though the journey has been incredibly challenging, we are committed to not losing hope although somedays it seems easier to give up.

Our OBGYN feels strongly that given our track record of 4 miscarriages, it is likely we will miscarry again. This is why we’ve turned to surrogacy. We feel this is the best path forward to help us start our family. We are incredibly fortunate—my amazing, heaven sent sister has offered to be our surrogate, giving us a renewed sense of hope and faith that this is part of God’s plan.

However, the financial burden of surrogacy is significant, with the total costs estimated at $50,000-$60,000. This includes legal fees, fertility treatments, embryo transfers, medications, and health and life insurance for the surrogate, and many other parts of the process.

We are deeply humbled by the love and support we’ve received over the years through our losses. It warms our hearts beyond words to know that our friends and family are cheering us on. Now, as we take the next step toward bringing a baby into our lives, we ask for your support once more.
