Campaign Story

Hello, my name is Antoinette Harris I’m a married lesbian to my studsband Bridgette Harris. My wife has two boys and I’ve been in their lives since they was 9 and 5 now they are 14 and 11 and I’m ready been ready to have one of my own. I’ve been molested since diapers up until my grandfather got me not sure of age but at 7 he died and it went back the same my mother never cared about loving me she used me to get what she wanted from men. I grew the courage to tell it got us taken away and my siblings hated me for telling. So growing up I wanted to be loved by family that I looked for love in all the wrong ways. I then decided I wasn’t happy with men and I would never be a mother so I went back to women. Since being with my wife I wanted to become a mom not just with men so I started doing my own research I see it cost money I’ve never had at once ever to pay for something like this to have a baby. The moment I got sick and was hospitalized I was told I have PCOS I love kids I work with kids and I take everyone kids on the weekends I’m that type of women who shows I would be a great mother so once I got sent to an obgyn I was told I could still have kids even with PCOS after never having any with men lost a few in miscarriage, I still never believe I can get pregnant. I went to a specialist in Illinois where they tested me I find out I have Robert syndrome, cycle cell anemia, and alpha thalassemia and was told I have 12 eggs that’s dropping that I need to choose what Imma do now I’m scared because I don’t have the money working as a educational assistant and my wife is a diesel technician we live from pay check to pay check we took in my sister 3 kids ended up with full custody of the oldest so its hard but we making it bills food and family time but to make a large pay we don’t. I would love anything to be a mother, to show I’m nothing like my mother, to give the love I never received to a child I can call mine. I’ve changed my life around I’m in college bout to graduate in Human Services and then start business management so I can open up children’s homes to help the kids that are in need of a safe place to call home til they can reunite with their love ones or be loved by me and a team I build to love them so I’m pushing for a lot just taken steps at a time but I’m 37 and my doctors are saying I need to gone and have a child and I’m ready I just need the help to get there.
