Campaign Story

My name is Jaylon Bass, and I am happily married to the wonderful Alexis Bass. I am 23 years of age. I am currently working on my bachelor’s while being a full-time Retail Manager For Walmart Inc. My love for service and children is unexplainable. I’ve waited forever to be able to have kids.

In 2021 after a year of being married my wife and I decided it was time to start planning for a family. Unfortunately, what we’d thought to be such a simple process was in fact more complex.

After A 2021 hsg I was made aware that my right tube was presumed closed as fluid did not enter through this side .

So, with one functioning tube and high hopes in 2022 we began testing and therapy to start our fist iui.

September (2022)iui failed.

February(2023) Iui was a success however ended in a ectopic pregnancy.

In 2023 I was getting through another rough day at work, and suddenly, I had a very sharp pain in my stomach and right away I called my mom and told her I think i should go to the emergency room . “Are women supposed to bleed heavy and have menstrual like cramping while pregnant”, I said . Immediately alarmed when my mom responded questioning me to explain my pain levels and bleeding as she wasn’t confident this was normal. At only just 9 weeks I thought the worst. I immediately rushed from work to the nearest emergency room.

When I arrived at the hospital, the doctors told me that my child’s fetal pole could not be found & they were sure the fetus had implanted outside of my uterus as it was large amounts of blood found on scans internally.

I would sit for hours waiting on a response from medical professionals drowning in my emotions.

I was later informed after hours of waiting that I would have to have an emergency surgery the next day due to my fallopian tube threatening rupture , an ectopic pregnancy in my left fallopian tube that I did not know anything about.

After surgery, I was told I had started to show signs of internal bleeding and was not supposed to make it.

My heart was devastated after hearing the sad news. The doctors took my baby and my left fallopian tube.

I’ll never forget having to drive myself home from the hospital alone crying wanting to crash and end it there .

Waiting for my wife to come from miles away to get back home to me in that moment. I wanted to keep my child and we die together.

Joining Therapy days later wanting to surround myself with high energies after feeling so slow. The marriage strain after months of being in our on “funk”.

We are one again.

Fast forwarding 3 months later ,

We are trying again with our only option IVF

I would have to do IVF because I have no fallopian tubes, but I have my ovaries and uterus.

We were quoted $11,500 from our doctor and only have to pay 8,000. (Kindbody)

With your help, Alexis and I will be so grateful for any support we can get.

With love,
Jaylon and Alexis Bass
