Campaign Story

We hold firm that God’s timing is perfect. Our journey to start our family began 3 1/2 years ago. Having been diagnosed with inflammatory PCOS and unexplained infertility we knew the odds were against us and our journey would be a difficult one.
June 2020-December 2021 we had 6 failed rounds of medicated treatments, with 2 of those rounds ending in miscarriage. After our second miscarriage, we stopped treatments to allow ourselves time to heal and to grieve our losses. But we never lost hope. We prayed and leaned on our faith for guidance. In September 2023 we knew in our hearts we were ready to try again.
We had exhausted all treatments and resources covered through insurance and our only option going forward was IVF. The tests and procedures required before our first IVF appointment ended up totaling $4,000. We knew IVF came with a heavy financial burden, so we started saving, hoping what we saved would be enough without asking for help.
We were not prepared for the heartbreak that those tests and procedures would discover. The testing and blood work showed I had Premature Ovarian Failure/Diminished Ovarian Reserve. My body has stopped releasing eggs and my egg reserve was abnormally low. They were not confident they would be able to retrieve any eggs, and if they could they did not think they would be viable eggs. Which is most likely the cause of our 2 previous miscarriages. The IVF doctor was not confident nor comfortable continuing with the traditional IVF treatment.
IVF was no longer an option and conceiving a child of our own was less given than a .03% chance. We were absolutely devastated but we continued to pray. Before we started exploring the adoption process, we were given one more option to have a baby of our own through Donor Egg IVF.
We have scheduled our first appointment in April to start the Donor Egg IVF process. Donor Egg IVF is a more complex treatment and with that it comes with a heavier financial burden than we were originally prepared for. We will travel to an out of state IVF clinic located in Syracuse, NY for our transfer.
Although we have been preparing for this, along with applying for fertility grants, the financial burden is more overwhelming than we expected. Please consider supporting us, first and foremost through prayer, for strength through this journey. Your support will not only touch our lives, but the life of our child, who will grow up surrounded by love.
We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and for joining us on this journey.
Love,
Heather & Joel
