My name is Samantha Hagen (Mejia), and I’m 39 years old. I live in Mesa, AZ, with my wonderful husband, Michael, and our two beautiful daughters, who are Michael’s step-daughters. Our family of four brings immense joy to my life, yet my heart yearns for something more. After 23 years apart, Michael and I have reconnected in a way that feels both profound and transformative. Rebuilding our relationship has not only rekindled our love, but it has also reignited dreams of expanding our family.

As we navigate this beautiful journey together, the desire to welcome a new little one into our lives has grown stronger. However, this dream comes with its challenges. Following my last pregnancy, I made the difficult choice to have my tubes tied, a decision that, at the time, felt necessary. Now, facing the bittersweet reality that we cannot conceive naturally is a heavy weight on my heart. Standing at this threshold of a new chapter in our lives, I feel a complex mix of emotions: hope, longing, and a touch of sadness.

When we learned about IVF as a possibility, it felt like a glimmer of hope in the midst of our struggles. After one unsuccessful round, I find myself holding onto hope for the next attempt.
