Hi, we’re Larissa and Mike.

Like many couples, we’ve always dreamed of becoming parents. After years of trying to grow our family, we learned that our journey would be more complicated than we ever expected. We were diagnosed with male factor infertility and were told that IVF would give us our best chance of having a child.

As we began preparing for treatment, we also had to navigate another challenge. I have a heart condition that makes any future pregnancy high risk and requires careful planning and medical supervision. Because of my health, our doctors have recommended moving forward with treatment as soon as possible to give us the best chance of a healthy pregnancy while protecting my well-being.

Infertility has brought its share of heartbreak, uncertainty, and difficult decisions. There have been moments of hope, moments of disappointment, and many questions about what the future might hold. Through it all, we’ve continued to hold onto our dream of becoming parents.

We are incredibly grateful to have insurance coverage that helps cover much of the cost of IVF treatment and fertility medications. Even with that coverage, there are still out-of-pocket expenses that must be paid before treatment can begin, including our treatment deposit, anesthesia costs, and other fees associated with starting our first IVF cycle. These expenses have become a significant hurdle as we work toward beginning treatment this summer.
