Campaign Story

Hi, we’re Dan and Nic Tarbet—a couple from small-town Idaho who have built a life filled with love, family, and community. For as long as we can remember, we’ve dreamed of becoming dads. After years of planning, saving, and navigating the complicated world of family-building as a same-sex couple, we are now incredibly grateful to share that our baby is due in March through gestational surrogacy.

Surrogacy is a beautiful and life-changing path—but it is also one of the most expensive. Even when done responsibly and ethically, total costs typically reach $90,000–$140,000, covering medical procedures, insurance, agency services, legal protection, and pregnancy-related needs. We’ve worked hard to cover as much as we can, but as the due date approaches, the remaining expenses are coming quickly.

Why We’re Fundraising

Every contribution goes directly toward the essential costs that make this journey possible, including:

Legal fees to secure parentage and protect everyone involved

Medical and IVF expenses

Agency & escrow fees that keep the process safe and ethical

Delivery and travel costs when it’s time to meet our baby in March

What This Means to Us

Becoming parents isn’t just a wish—it’s the core of the future we’ve always imagined. We want to raise a child in a home grounded in kindness, humor, stability, and so much love. Knowing that we are just months away from meeting our baby fills us with excitement, nerves, and overwhelming gratitude.

How Your Support Helps

Your generosity—whether $5 or $500—brings us one step closer to holding our baby for the very first time. It eases the financial pressure of these final months and allows us to focus on preparing for the safe and joyful arrival of our child.

Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting our family as we enter this final stretch. It means more to us than we can ever express.

With love and gratitude,
Dan & Nic
