Campaign Story

Hi, my name is Sarah thanks for taking the time to read my post. A little about me and my husband David, we have been together for five and a half years and married for almost one year. We have a beautiful home and a loving family that support us. We were very eager to start a family right away for many reasons but one of the biggest reasons being my age, I will be 35 this year which brings it’s own risks to becoming and having a successful pregnancy. As any woman knows that is over 30 trying to conceive they throw the term “geriatric” around quite a bit which is awesome lol. We have both always wanted to be parents and were ready to start our journey to conceive this year. After having little luck conceiving we decided to meet with a specialist. We were hopeful when all our tests came back with great results labs and ultrasound for us both showed no reason we could not conceive.  HSG (hysterosalpingiogram) revealed that I have bilateral hydrosalpinx which means my fallopian tubes are unable to function properly. This is a result of an infection resulting from appendicitis surgery when I was 18. At the time I was in the hospital for four days with a drain following my surgery to remove my appendix. This left me with scar tissue and damaged tubes, I had no idea until having this test that this could even be a diagnosis for me. This for me was devastating to hear not only because it meant that I could not conceive naturally but that I also need surgery to completely remove my tubes before IVF can be successful. Anyone who has gone through or looked into IVF knows how expensive the process is especially when medical insurance does not cover any of the cost which is our case. I know there are a lot of couples going through the same thing we are and they understand how hard it is to cope with the stress and financial burden this all can bring. If anyone can donate even a little bit to help us to become parents we would greatly appreciate anything! Please pray for us as we start this journey to overcome infertility.
