Campaign Story
For those who don’t know us, our names are Jamie and Kacee. Our story began 14 years ago when we first started dating. We were married in 2018 and have always dreamed of starting a family and becoming Moms!
Our baby journey began in 2019, when we started with at-home insemination. After many failed attempts with at-home, we began IUI in 2022 with our local doctor. We were successful on our third attempt and Jamie fell pregnant with twins! We were over the moon and had found out a few days before Christmas! What a wonderful Christmas present we thought, but God had other plans for our babies and unfortunately we lost them at 7 weeks. In 2023, our doctor had recommended we start IVF and that sent us on our journey to Denver, CO.
In October of 2023, Jamie went through an egg retrieval which produced two healthy embryos. In November of 2023, our first embryo transfer was a success and Jamie became pregnant! All was looking up and we were getting so excited to meet Baby J! Again, God had different plans and we lost our sweet (and healthy) baby boy in February of 2024 at 10 1/2 weeks! After the miscarriage, Jamie had two D&C procedures, multiple Hysteroscopies, and blood work to see why our pregnancy had ended. Our doctors had no answers as all of her labs and test results came back normal. In August, we had our second embryo transfer but were not successful. This left us gut-wrenched and with a million questions unanswered.
In September, we decided to get a second opinion and reached out to a doctor in Fort Collins, CO. This doctor came highly recommended by other IVF couples that we know personally and who had success. We had one question we wanted answered, could Jamie carry a baby? We were told they don’t see any reason why Jamie couldn’t carry a baby to full term, but financially and medically it did not make sense to use her eggs. Her past labs have shown that egg quantity and quality are against us.
We are now starting a new path on our journey! We will begin reciprocal IVF in January of 2025 with our new doctor! For those of you who don’t know what reciprocal IVF is, it means we will be moving forward with retrieving my eggs and Jamie will be carrying Baby J! We are so excited but as most of you know medical procedures like IVF can be mentally, physically and most of all financially draining! We wanted to start this fundraiser to raise extra funds for our travel, hotel expenses, medical procedures, etc. as our insurance does not cover IVF. Your donations and support in sharing our fundraiser will help us achieve our dream of starting a family and bringing Baby J home! Thank you all for your love and support and we can not wait for you all to meet Baby J!
