Campaign Story

Hello everyone my name is Brittany! I’m very grateful that I was fortunate enough to come across Gift of Parenthood – it has given me a sense of hope – in a situation I feel completely heartbroken/hopeless in. I’m currently diagnosed with Endometriosis, PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), and Hashimoto’s Disease (a disease of the thyroid where your body ultimately thinks your thyroid is a foreign invader, and attacks it – it is a form of hypothyroidism) these diagnoses have made it very difficult for RJ and I to conceive naturally. I have had two ectopic pregnancies – one resulting in emergency surgery, the other resolved with methotrexate injections. I have also had five surgeries in total for endometriosis and PCOS for endo removal and cyst removal – along with countless biopsies, and dye tests to be sure no infection was occurring, and my tubes were remaining open. I have also been going for frequent visits with my endocrinologist to be sure my thyroid levels stay below 2.5 as that gives me the best optimal chances of carrying a healthy pregnancy with my Hashimoto’s diagnosis. Currently, I’m taking Letrozole with no success, and RJ has even gone as far as purchasing me Kegg – a fertility tracker for women. Unfortunately, the clock is ticking for me as my Hashimoto’s will progress in time, making it more difficult to conceive, and there is no cure for Endometriosis or PCOS other than a hysterectomy. I know deep down the best chance for RJ and I to have our rainbow baby is through IVF. However, due to the medical bills I recently have with trying to get my fertility under control – it seems like the IVF Dream is far out of reach. We would be forever grateful for any donations to support at least ONE round of IVF to give us our best chance of having our little miracle.
