Campaign Story

Hi. I am Kari and this is my story. At the young age of 23, I agreed to have a tubal ligation preformed. After suffering years of abuse, I never imagined being in a place where I would want to bring more children into the world. I was uneducated, with little hope for the future. Finally breaking free and getting on my own, I fought hard to better myself for the life of the two daughters I had already given birth to. I was able to obtain my GED, graduating in the top 5 people in my state. I started then to work on a career. I learned the culinary world and fought my way through the ranks of the kitchen and became and Executive Chef. Romance always took a backseat to my children and goals. Assuming I was meant to be alone in this world, never to have happiness. However, in 2021, all that changed when I met the man of my dreams, my soulmate, Chris. Our souls recognized each other the moment we spoke. We have been inseparable since. January of 2022, we decided we would love to have a happy family of our own. Both of us had come from very broken families, always dreaming of one day, having the chance at a real, loving home. Chris does not have children of his own and my two daughters are all grown up, out exploring the world. While I am happy to have been able to be a good mother, raising my daughters on my own, I long for the “white picket fence, with our toddler out playing on the swing set, happy mom and dad grilling in the yard” life. We have paid $3,000 already to Lakeshore fertility clinic in Georgia, however due to set backs and rising cost of living, we have been unable to meet the upcoming deadline for the rest of the fees. Also, at the age of 39 now, my biological clock is also ticking. I fear, without help, our dream is quickly fading away.
If you have read this far, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read our story. Any amount that you can spare, even if it is $1, is a step closer to reaching our dream.
