Campaign Story

Hi, my husband and I are seeking help for IVF. Here is the story of our journey.
We’ve been together for 10 years and for the first 4.5 years of marriage we worked to get financially stable before we attempted to bring a child into the family. Each of us came from big families and we never imagined that being a struggle. After 19 months of trying to conceive with no positive pregnancy tests, we were referred to a reproductive endocrinologist. At my initial work up, the doctor suspected that I had endometriosis and both my tubes appeared blocked. I had my first surgery to remove the endo and the dr discovered that one of my tubes never fully formed at birth so I had only one functional tube. The surgery successfully opened my good tube, so we were pretty confident that everything would go smoothly from there. But immediately following, I had my first ectopic pregnancy. We were disappointed but at the same time happy to know that we could actually conceive. We tried naturally for another year with no success. We finally decided to try IVF and we flew (I took that picture from the plane) to another clinic that a friend had gone to since it was cheaper, but unfortunately my transfers failed due to the endo beginning to come back. With heavy hearts we came back home. Suddenly, the next month I became pregnant again- this time with a fast growing ectopic. It was brutally painful and heart wrenching. The result was the loss of my only good tube…
As difficult as this all has been, I can truly say my husband and I have grown closer through everything and we know that with God’s help, we still have a fighting chance using IVF. We are not quitting. I took a year off from treatments to regroup and then I had a little surprise this summer with a couple tumors that showed up. But I just came through a second “clean up” surgery and thankfully the tumors were benign. We are hopeful to move into treatment quickly.

If you would be so kind as to contribute any amount, we would be so grateful! Thank you for reading!
