Campaign Story

I will be turning 40 this year and have been struggling with infertility my whole adult life. My husband and I have been trying for a baby naturally for 8 years total but have not been successful due to my metabolic condition with PCOS and recently informed of Endometriosis. October 2020 began HCG injections and became pregnant. We lost our little boy January 2021. Losing him is when my OB at the time diagnosed with incompetent cervix. Once my body healed, I had started metformin and Clomid. Countless prayers and an increase dosage on Clomid, I was pregnant on my 4th cycle. Because I have incompetent cervix, I had a vaginal McDonald’s cerclage placed at 12 week gestation. The pregnancy was progressing very well until I was at my 20 weeks. January 20th, 2022, my cerclage failed. We fought so hard during our hospital stay, but my water ended up breaking and we lost our little girl the day after I was due for my anatomy scan at my OB.

My postpartum appointment came, and my OB referred me to the top fertility specialist in the area. He agreed to placing a transabdominal cerclage but, recommended we wait until after we become pregnant to have it place, due to my history of difficulty becoming pregnant. Since then, I have undergone ovulation inductions along with trigger injections with no success.

My fertility specialist strongly suggest that I do IVF. Because the ovulation induction treatments, I have a high risk of growing multiple ovarian cysts. I would love to go through IVF or even IUI, but we live in a state that insurance does not cover fertility treatments and medications. My husband and I are not able to financially afford IVF aligned with the outrageous monthly payments on a payment plan. I have research secondary insurance but have not found any that cover fertility treatments.

My husband and I feel at a complete loss and are quickly running out of time trying for a child. I feel completely broken because my body won’t do the most natural thing I was born to do. Each month we try so hard and each month no success. Month after month, negative along with whole new cycle of worries and fears that I will never be able to be a mother.

I am asking for help through this fundraiser to allow me to try to build our little family we have be trying to have for so long. Any donations will go towards IVF treatments and the medications. Every dollar is a blessing and deeply appreciated. I pray that one day every family that is struggling with infertility has the opportunity without the financial obstacles we are still facing today.
