Campaign Story
Hi, my name is Kelly, and I just turned 40 — a milestone that feels both hopeful and heavy as my husband and I continue our journey to become parents.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of being a mother. Caring for children has been part of my heart and my identity since I was young. I started babysitting when I was 11 years old, and since then I’ve been a nanny to dozens of children, a kindergarten teacher, a tutor, a homeschool teacher, a camp counselor, an event nanny, and even a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher. I also earned my degree in child development because helping little ones grow brings me pure joy. I’m the stranger who will hold a crying baby on a plane so a mom flying solo can take a bathroom break, and the overdedicated aunt who never misses a birthday, game, or recital for our nine (almost ten!) nieces and nephews. I have always been that person who lights up around children and has longed for the day I could finally have one of my own.
My husband, Michael, shares that same love for children. He is the kind of uncle every kid adores — playful, patient, and endlessly kind. Watching him with our nieces and nephews has made me even more certain that he will be the most incredible father. We’ve spent so many nights imagining what life would look like with a little one of our own, and I know in my heart that we would give our child a life filled with love, laughter, and security.
For the past decade, I’ve been struggling with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) which has meant countless medications, surgeries, procedures, injections, ultrasounds, and blood draws. Michael and I met later in life and married in 2023. We’ve spent the last five years trying everything possible to start a family, including IUI, but nothing has worked.
After thorough testing, we’ve learned that while our eggs and sperm are healthy, IVF is now our only option to make our dream of becoming parents a reality — especially since time is no longer on our side. Unfortunately, the cost of IVF is beyond our reach on our own.
I have devoted my life to caring for and loving other people’s children, and now Michael and I are praying for the chance to experience that same love as parents. Your support would mean the world to us and would help make what feels like an impossible dream possible. More than anything, we’re holding onto hope that one day soon, our home will be filled with the laughter and love of a child we’ve waited so long for.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for being a part of our journey to parenthood.
With love and gratitude,
Kelly & Michael
