Campaign Story

My name is Robin and I am 30 years old. I have two beautiful boys from a previous relationship that I am beyond grateful for. Being a mom is something that I have always wanted since I was a kid. I was not raised in the best upbringing and I have strived to provide my kids with a successful and love filled life and give them the things I never had as a child both emotionally, financially and physically. I am the first to graduate high school out of my family. I went through Nursing school and have been a Nurse since June of 2022.

I met my wife in 2019 and we got married in 2021. My wife has been phenomenal with my boys and I want nothing more than to give her a baby and add onto our family tree! I am creating this because we unfortunately got thrown off our plans, long story short we are having to bump up our timeline of having a baby sooner rather than later! We recently purchased a home and are in the process of buying our first home and originally our plan was to start trying to conceive the summer after closing but due to medical reasons we have to make a decision now.

I have been dealing with pre cancerous cells on my cervix since 2022. I have had to have numerous pap smears that come back abnormal and then procedures known as colposcopies which are biopsies to have the abnormal cells removed. Following that, because they still remain abnormal or high grade I have had numerous LEEPs (AKA) Loop electrosurgical excision procedures as well which are minimally invasive procedures that remove the tissue from the cervix that are abnormal or cancerous.

Because these cells keep coming back in the same margins or more as High Grade changes my doctor is recommending a hysterectomy, but I am only 30 and I am not done having kids. This is a huge and hard decision to make and I want to have at least one more prior to having to have it removed. He knows that I desire one more child as is recommending that if I am planning on having a baby it needs to be sooner rather than later to prevent the chances of this turning into cancer. We are hoping to track my periods for a few months and have the funds to be able to do our first insemination in or around December and hopefully have a Christmas announcement for our family! My partner and I desire nothing more then to have a baby together and the only barrier that stands in place is the financial aspect of getting pregnant that my partner and I face due to being a same sex couple, and the unfortunate timing of having to pay thousands of dollars associated with also buying a home. We did not expect this news when we went into buying a home and our plan was to originally get pregnant after we moved into the home.

Since I was younger I have always desired having a large family, and being the best mom I can be and although I have two children being able to have one more child before having to have a hysterectomy and give my wife the experience she’s never had would be life changing and more than I could ever ask for, for my partner and I. We both would truly appreciate any type of fundraising we can acquire.
