Campaign Story

My husband, Rob, and I have been together for over 14 years, but began trying to conceive after we got married 8 years ago. Our journey with IVF began once I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure at age 30. Through genetic screening, I learned that I was premutation carrier for Fragile X, and this is what likely caused my premature ovarian failure. We were told we literally had a one in a million chance of naturally conceiving and if we did, there was a high probability our child would have Fragile X. This led us to being advised to use donor eggs. After switching to a clinic out of state following an error at our first clinic, we selected a donor and created our embryos. After 7 long days, we learned we had 8 embryos. Naively, we were overjoyed and figured it was going to work. We have done 4 transfers of our embryos and sadly it has resulted in 3 miscarriages and one with no implantation. After our second miscarriage, we began working with a reproductive immunologist. We are now looking at starting over with a new donor at a new clinic. We do not love the idea of asking for help, especially financially, but we have exhausted our means. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for even taking the time to read just a glimpse of our fertility journey!
