After being forced into a late-term abortion against my will, I lost my baby girl, Antoinette. That loss still burns inside me. I am now on a journey to bring her back into my life through IVF. My name is Joy.

A while ago, I was forced into something no mother should ever endure—an abortion I never wanted, at five months pregnant. I lost my daughter, Antoinette, not because I chose to, but because my birth mother decided for me.

I carry the grief of her absence every single day. I named her Antoinette because even in the brief time I carried her, she changed my world. I never got to hold her. I never got to say goodbye.

Now, I’m trying to fight for a second chance at motherhood through IVF. But I’m doing it alone. And I can’t afford it.

I’ve lost so much—my child, my peace, and even hope at times. But I refuse to lose the dream of becoming a mother again. I want to hold my baby. I want to bring life where there has only been loss.
