Campaign Story

Hello, my name is Natalie. I am here to ask for help to carry my baby to our second trimester. A little about us. I have married a wonderful man for the past 16 years. We have been very fortunate to have grown together over the years. We met while he was working at a fast-food restaurant. I had just graduated from college. We have supported each other through dreams of returning to school, getting real jobs (lol), and most of the experiences that life rolls to you. Throughout our marriage, we were never able to conceive naturally. We weren’t on birth control, but at the same time, we weren’t waiting to hit the lottery or attain perfect lives. We were going with the energy flow and thinking that someday we would have a child. A few years ago, my husband was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. Around the same time, I was dealing with multiple treatments to try and calm the beast of my PCOS. With both of our health issues, parenthood became more of a distant dream.

As of today, my husband is now cancer-free. I have excellent doctors helping me to manage my PCOS. Because of the recent changes to insurance policies regarding fertility treatments, we were able to start our fertility process last year. We are finally pregnant after the emotional rollercoaster many have endured on this journey to be parents. We have been able to cover the cost of treatments, medications, appointments, etc. with our health insurance, savings, and credit cards. There are some medications and treatments that are not covered by insurance. As a result, we are doing our best by paying out of pocket. It has not been easy. We have been able to cover most of the costs, but I need some help and faith to complete some of these treatments until I hit my 12 weeks milestone. I am at the halfway mark, currently six weeks now. I understand that with the job market, inflation, and unpredictable life, it is not easy to give what you may have. I am asking for help because my current health requires more of everything to keep this baby. My husband and I cannot do this alone. We were only able to get one viable embryo. I will pay this forward to the next parent(s) looking for help. Once I can return to my job of conducting home visits for first-time parents (check out a great free program called Nurse-Family Partnership), I can continue my pay it forward in many ways. Thank you very much for reading this message. God Bless.
