Campaign Story

We are Chris and Chelsea Sanchez, and we are facing what seems to be an impossible challenge bringing a baby into our lives. We met as coworkers in 2016, and began dating shortly after realizing the joy we bring to each other and all the time we wanted to spend together. Soon into dating we began talking about our future, aligning on the vision of a family while often playfully talking about parenting styles, what he/she will look like, what traits of ours they’ll pick up, etc etc.

In Oct 2020, Chris dropped to one knee on the beach of Laguna in California, and with a glistening diamond ring in his hands he asked Chelsea to marry him, followed by tears of joy and an immediate “YES!” in response. After venue hunting and choosing just the place for our ceremony and celebration, we locked in the date of May 5, 2022 to tie the knot and begin our future together. Invites were dispersed to all friends and family with love flowing through our veins.

Things started to look differently when Chelsea, at the age of 33, had a colonoscopy and stage 2 cancer was found, just 9 months before our wedding date. Solution-based with dreams on the horizon, we jumped right into retrieving my eggs before starting chemo and radiation treatment. We successfully created 5 healthy embryos that are frozen, my body responded very well to the treatments, and we managed to put on the most memorable wedding night in the middle of everything.

I am now over two years in remission, and we are more than ever ready to bring baby Sanchez into the world. After letting our fertility doctor know we are ready, she got us in touch with some referred surrogate agencies. We met with them all and even quickly got a match of a beautiful and healthy surrogate, ready to carry our baby.

We now need to raise the funds for surrogacy, which in total could be up to $200k. We are applying to grants we’re finding through research, and doing anything possible to make our ultimate life desires a reality.
