Campaign Story

My name is Angela. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2010 and ultimately had to have a partial hysterectomy in 2014, leaving me unable to carry a child. That’s the same year I met the love of my life, Sam. Sam and I were fortunate enough to have 5 embryos created and cryopreserved in June of 2020. In that same month, we met our surrogate and she could not be more perfect! It’s been a long road to get to where we are now. Our surrogate traveled to Colorado in May and we had a “chemical pregnancy” which is a nice way to say early miscarriage. 🙁 We traveled to Colorado again in June to be with our surrogate to try again. This time we attempted transferred two babies. Just recently we confirmed we had a blighted ovum– it was very disappointing. We have two embryos left, but our savings has dwindled below the threshold we need. Unfortunately our surrogate is feeling as though the tax on her body with two attempts she doesn’t know if she can do a third attempt.

The cost of the journey so far is $33,922 and we have at least that much more to go. We are asking you to help us on this new path by donating to our fundraiser. We are seeking assistance with the financial burden of IVF and surrogacy, and we would be forever grateful if you could help. Even $5 would mean the world to us and help us grow our future family. For those who have already contributed, thank you so very much!

I have been trying to raise money in many ways to help fund this journey; from crocheting pot holders and knitting chunky baby blankets, to freelance web and graphic design, to opening up our home as AirBnB hosts. For each donation we receive over $10, I will send you a pot holder as a thank you. ❤️

We pray we are able to welcome a baby next year.
