My name is Krystal and I have PCOS. PCOS is a hormonal disorder causing enlarged ovaries with cysts on the outer edges. Some women develop cysts, some do not. In addition, the body produces more male hormones which makes it difficult to ovulate regularly, causes excess hair growth, causes acne, and obesity.
PCOS is not widely understood in the medical community, often with band-aids put over the larger problem. So while you can seek treatments, the condition cannot be cured. However, because of the hormone imbalances and more present male hormones, it is often difficult to ovulate on your own or your ovulation, which makes getting pregnant extremely difficult.

1 in 8 women will suffer infertility at one point in their life.

Me and my husband, Luke, have been trying to get pregnant for over 3 years. PCOS and male infertility factors have made it incredibly difficult, along with all infertility treatments being halted at the beginning of the pandemic and infertility doctors being booked for months on end.
We have sold our home to move into a more affordable option to be able to afford treatment and were able to attempt 1 round of IUI. While we are able to make some treatment options work, they are extremely costly. But our journey is far from over.
I am asking you for help on this journey that we are walking, and sharing to raise awareness. We are seeking assistance with the financial burden of another cycle of IUI and IVF and would be so honored if you could help.
