Campaign Story

We are Abigail and Austin and we have struggled with infertility for years. Several months of trying led to a year. After a year, we were seeing specialists and getting all kinds of tests and blood work done to see why we had not conceived on our own yet. Doctors appointments after doctors appointments, we were feeling hopeless. It seemed like everyone we knew was having a baby but us. It makes you feel as if something IS wrong with you. We started questioning everything. “Maybe we aren’t meant to have kids.” “Maybe God doesn’t want us to become parents.” It was taking a toll on us physically and emotionally. As I went in for a second scan of my uterus, I was told everything looked fine and to go home and keep trying. We were once again hopeful of our future. Another year went by, full of ups and downs, when we found ourselves at a new doctors office running the same tests and more blood work. We decided to try insemination this time. Being very hopeful once again, we gave it our all. It finally was looking up for us. Our Everest was getting closer. But, just as we went in to do the procedure that door closed right in our face. We were unable to even do the insemination.
Even after all the tests, blood work, ultrasounds and medication. We felt in our hearts this was God telling us, “No. This is not your time.” We knew we needed to be patient and trust in God. We no longer wanted to put our bodies through the endless amounts of stress, emotions, and heartbreaks of doctors appointments. We prayed and prayed and through all of this our relationship with God has just gotten stronger.
We felt a strong calling by the Holy Spirit to adopt quickly after not being able to move forward with insemination. Adoption gives us the ability to become parents, something that sometimes feels unachievable.
There are numerous emotions that are involved when adopting, and worrying about how to pay for adoption should not be one. Adoption costs are expensive. Medical expenses, court fees, travel expenses all add up quickly. We would appreciate anything at all you are willing to donate. All the money raised will go straight to our adoption cost. We want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us achieve this life long dream of ours, to become “Mom and Dad”
