Campaign Story

My name is Kamille and I have sickle cell disease. I also found out 2yrs ago that I am goin through menopause at the age of 38. After being on birth control for over 20yrs I was never told as a child that it would likely cause me to become infertile, but I had no choice but to be put on birth control be cause of my sickle cell. Now I deal with the pain of knowing I may never have children. My partner and I have been trying for almost 2yrs now and I have yet to become pregnant. Because of my SCD I don’t currently work and we struggle to come up with the funds to attempt IVF treatment. My dream has always been to be a mother and it breaks my heart not being able to conceive on my own. But what breaks my heart even more is trying my best to be happy for all my family members who have had beautiful babies over the years because my heart hurts that it’s not me and my partner being the new found expectants. I know everyone has their struggles but if you could give even $5 it would mean the world to me and my partner to know that there are giving and loving people all over this world. I hope that this message opens the heart of even one person in helping me fulfill my dream of being a mother.
