Campaign Story

A little back story, my name is Brittany. Over the last 5 years, my husband and I have dealt with 3 painful losses. We learned after the second loss that I have a DNA duplication and that could be the reason for our losses. We were told IVF would be our best route instead of a 50/50 chance trying naturally. We decided to not risk that kind of heartbreak after everything else.

Our first attempt at IVF has failed. It hurts typing those words. We were hopeful that it would take, seeing as we had 6 embryos that tested normal. Since neither of our insurances currently cover IVF, we are pay-as-we-go and have to pay every time we do a FET (frozen embryo transfer). Each time costs around $4k, with the meds close to a couple of hundred depending on how much is prescribed.

I know I created one before to start our process, and I appreciated everyone who donated. You have no idea how much that meant to us. It was enough to get us started. So far, during this journey, we’ve spent close to $20k. At this time, I might not be able to pull any more out of my 401K like I did last time to cover the costs.

We are unable to try again until sometime in July due to the lab shutting down for maintenance. I hope to save as much as we can between now and then; any extra would help greatly. As most of you know, I am not one to ask for help, but I’m doing my best to reach out. If you can’t donate, I understand, times are hard…trust me. Just share it, and that will help as well.
