Campaign Story

My name is Erica, my husband and I are fundraising with the hopes of starting our family.
We’d been trying to get pregnant for about 8 months when we sought help from my doctor. After 6 more months working with her she eventually referred us to a fertility specialist. Working with Dr. Schmidt was like getting our lives back. No more ovulation tests, no more tracking hormones. Our joy quickly reverted back to anxiety and grief as we had three failed IUIs and have now started a new form of treatment that has major costs each month. I am a public educator in rural Ohio and we are reaching the point of having to decide if we can continue to pay for the necessary medication and treatments in order to continue our quest to start a family. Our savings has taken a major hit, these funds would allow us to continue trying and following the best course of treatment.
My husband and I have 11 nieces and nephews and we LOVE being the fun Aunt and Uncle, but there is always that hollowness that settles as we desire to start our own family. Your help could make the difference in whether or not we can continue trying to start our family.
