Campaign Story

Hello, my name is Jordyn and my Husband Erich and I married in 2014. At the time we were living in Fayetteville, NC where he completed two deployments in Afghanistan. We have the best dog in the world Blackie, and lost our other baby Blondie to cancer in 2021. I am currently working as a restaurant server, and Erich is a Cardiac Nurse at UNC Rex. We are very happy and feel grateful for what we have: jobs, family, wonderful friends, and our health. But no matter how much gratitude we have, we both know something is missing. In April 2021, we decided to start a family and luckily getting pregnant wasn’t an issue. Unfortunately, staying pregnant was. After suffering 4 miscarriages in less than one year, we were told by Doctors that IVF is our best option. I always knew how expensive IVF is, but I wasn’t quite prepared for how expensive. Insurance does not cover anything and as a result it is something that is out of our grasp for the foreseeable future. I feel like I have felt sorry for myself enough; yes we have suffered but I now want to do my best to be proactive rather than reactive. This is why I am doing this campaign… it is my attempt to fight back. We ask for this money to have a chance to experience the most incredible gift in the world, parenthood. We know that IVF is not a guarantee, but it’s a chance. Please help us have that chance.
