Campaign Story

My name is Molly Kjos, and I am writing with immense hope and humility to request financial assistance through your IVF grant program. My husband, Justin, and I have been on a deeply emotional journey with infertility, one that has tested our resilience, yet strengthened our resolve to build the family we dream of.

At the age of 19, I experienced my first miscarriage. Over the years, I endured multiple ectopic pregnancies, and in 2012, I underwent an emergency c-section due to a ruptured tube that caused internal bleeding. The surgeon removed my right fallopian tube and part of my uterus, leaving me with what I was told was no chance of conceiving naturally. At 22, the financial burden of IVF seemed insurmountable, and I struggled to accept a future without biological children.

Coming from a large family—one of eleven siblings—I have watched my brothers and sisters experience the joys of parenthood while I remained on the sidelines. The pain of longing, of feeling like the “cool aunt” but never the mother, became a silent struggle. That changed in 2021, when a surprising positive pregnancy test reignited my hope. However, my HCG levels remained low, and an ultrasound revealed an empty uterus. Though this pregnancy did not progress, it pushed me to seek answers.

Further medical testing revealed a polyp blocking my tubes, contradicting the belief that my right tube had been removed. Confused but hopeful, I underwent a hysteroscopy to remove the polyp, only to be left with even more unanswered questions about my previous surgery. Despite the uncertainty, my OB encouraged us to try conceiving naturally for a year. When that proved unsuccessful, we sought help from the Bozeman Fertility Clinic, where initial testing showed promising results for IVF.

Excited for the possibilities, we eagerly awaited our financial consultation, only to be devastated by the news that the full $25,000+ cost had to be paid upfront. With no insurance coverage, our dream of becoming parents felt once again out of reach. The weight of this financial burden is overwhelming, but our desire to have a child remains unwavering.

Loss leaves an indelible mark. Each pregnancy that didn’t make it stays with me—the quiet grief, the unfulfilled dreams, the “what-ifs” that surface in unexpected moments. I have done my best to accept what life has given me, but the hope that IVF brings is something I cannot ignore.

Then, by chance, I discovered CNY Fertility. A single TikTok video led me down a path of research and renewed optimism. My husband and I scheduled a consultation, completed our genetic and fertility testing, and checked every box required to begin the journey. Now, all we need is the opportunity.

We are humbly asking for your assistance in the form of an IVF grant. Your support would not only help us financially but would also bring us closer to fulfilling a dream we have held onto for so long. This grant would alleviate the financial strain that has been our greatest obstacle and allow us to focus on what truly matters—bringing a child into our loving home.
