Campaign Story
Hi, my name is Stephanie, and I’m reaching out with something that comes straight from my heart.
Becoming a mother has been my dream for as long as I can remember. I always imagined raising a child in a warm, loving home, filled with laughter, bedtime stories, and the beautiful chaos that comes with family. I waited for the right partner to share this with, but life doesn’t always unfold the way we expect.
Now, at 40 years old, I’ve decided not to wait any longer.
After a lot of reflection, courage, and medical advice, I’ve chosen to start the journey of having a child on my own. It’s not an easy path—but I believe it’s the right one for me. I’m working with one of the top fertility clinics in Canada, Olive Fertility Centre in Vancouver. Unfortunately, I’ve been diagnosed with very low ovarian reserve, which means that IVF (in vitro fertilization) is my only chance of having a biological child—and that the process will likely take more than one attempt.
Why I’m Asking for Help
In Canada, IVF is not covered by our public healthcare system. I also don’t have private insurance that includes fertility care. Every cost—doctor visits, medications, lab tests, donor sperm, and embryo transfers—is something I have to pay for out of pocket. And as someone doing this without a partner or financial support from family, this is simply more than I can afford alone.
I’m working full-time and saving everything I can, but one IVF cycle at Olive Fertility costs around $25,000–$30,000 CAD—and due to my medical situation, I may need multiple cycles. I’ve considered loans, but I’m doing everything I can to avoid going into deep debt before even getting pregnant.
That’s why I’m reaching out. I know there are kind, generous people in the world who believe in helping others build families. If you’re one of them, I would be beyond grateful for your support.

How You Can Help
If you’re able to donate—whether it’s $10 or $100—you’re helping turn hope into possibility. Every contribution, big or small, brings me closer to the chance to welcome a child into my life.
If you can’t give, you can still help by sharing this page. And if you’ve read this far, thank you. Your kindness, your time, and your belief in someone else’s dream mean the world.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting me in this next chapter of my life.
With gratitude,
Stephanie
