Campaign Story

I suppose you could say mine is an odd story since I am single, divorced and recently found out I am mostly asexual. And oh, I am terrified of getting married again as well but I won’t let that stop me from reaching and aiming for my dream of having another kid.

Hope you have a moment to hear my story. My name is Regina and I will be 30 years old come sept. I came to Canada alone from Nigeria six years ago with all manner of hopes and dreams. It was scary and depressing being here and having no family but let me Jump a year ahead when I met my now ex.
I was already told I have fibroid and had already had one ectopic pregnancy so I wanted to have a baby before I was 28 years. I had my son in the year 2021. He was the best thing to ever happen to me. But right after getting married, my marriage promptly went south. There was a lot of verbal abuse, miscommunication, misunderstanding and eventually, contempt and hatred. I started fearing for my safety so I took my son and ran to a shelter since I didn’t have a family in Canada.
Since then, I have been gradually healing myself both emotionally and financially.
I come from a large family of 8. I have always wished to give my son a sibling, someone to connect with in a way I did my elder sister and my younger siblings, someone to vent to when mum is being mum, lol. I also hoped they would be closer in age as that would make them bond much more.
I don’t really want to get married again. I have the means to support two more children on my own as I have a steady job and quite financially reasonable. However, I don’t have the money to pay for ivf which is what my doctor recommended.
It would cost around 18-20k Canadian dollars.
I have used up most of my savings on divorce lawyers and putting myself through a graduate program. I hope to start my treatment as soon as I can make the initial payment of 5,000$ and I intent to donate any remaining embryo that might be obtained from the procedure.
Right now, with my son, my steady job, in my little house in our little city, my life is good, it’s never been better. I know myself and my son are eager and ready to add to our family. I hope you can help me achieve that dream.
