Campaign Story

My name is Megan Allred, and I have endometriosis. My husband and I recently married June 4th of 2021. I also recently underwent surgery to remove my fallopian tubes back in February, so that my husband and I can have better luck with getting a successful IVF. However, after our first attempt at an IVF, all of the eggs and embryos failed long before we could transfer any of them. Now we must pay for endometriosis medication to slow the progressive disease before it attacks any more eggs. One vial of Lupron is $1,400, and insurance doesn’t cover a dime of it.
Instead of freezing my eggs, my husband, Camden and I, are hoping to start a new second IVF attempt without freezing any eggs for a more successful outcome. Without IVF insurance, we are forced to pay out of pocket in addition to rent, utilities, and the monthly Lupron to slow my endometriosis before it can attack more eggs or disable me. My endometriosis doctors have stated that getting pregnant can pause the spread of endometriosis and treat my pain. And this may be the last time I can ever try to conceive before the endometriosis causes more damage. This, in addition to our love for kids, is why we are trying to conceive.
Please help us overcome this barrier so that we can have at least one baby to love and care for. And thank you for all that you do to shape our world!
