Campaign Story

My name is Moumita. My husband Saurabh and I met 19 years ago when both of us were still in college. From the start, we knew we were made for each other and wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. We mostly lived in different cities for work but always managed to speak with each other during the evenings after work. We sometimes spent hours talking over the phone with each other. We got married on February 24, 2011.

As a couple we love to spend our time together outdoors, hiking, camping or simply exploring nature. Both of us are passionate for wildlife and have always supported animal welfare projects and programs. We also formed our own support group and worked towards uplifting the social and economic conditions of the villages in eastern India. These initiatives included distribution of clean drinking water, winter clothing, blankets, and books to the people living in those villages.

We always imagined that we would get married and become parents. We both wanted to become parents soon after we got married, sadly that never happened. Saurabh is a strong, courageous and kind man and I know that he will be an amazing father. We have trying to conceive for the last 10 years but never succeeded. It breaks my heart to think that I may not be able to have children naturally.

Saurabh has very low sperm motility. He has a lot of healthy sperms and has a high sperm count. But the lack of motility has been preventing us from achieving our dream of parenthood. Our only way to conceive is through ICSI-IVF.

We were raised in India and moved to British Columbia, Canada in 2019 as Permanent Residents. As new immigrants, we are still struggling financially, trying to make ends meet. Considering the amount of money this procedure costs here, it still seems like a distant dream. With my gradually declining ovarian reserve, it is necessary for us to make a decision soon, else it may be too late for me. We feel we are so close to taking the next steps, we just need a little extra help.

Thank you so much.
