Campaign Story

Let me start out by saying we are so blessed to have found each other and blended our 2 girls together. I gained an amazing, talented stepdaughter and he gained a smart, hardworking daughter that I adopted years back. Even though we have “it all”, we still felt called by God to add to our family. We began our journey in 2020 and here we are 3 years later reaching out for help.

Corey and I have been diagnosed with “unexplained infertility”. After many rounds of testing and countless hours of driving to Atlanta, our doctors just couldn’t find a reason why we couldn’t conceive a child of our own. It seems like it would have been easier to understand if there was an exact reason. They recommended starting with IUI and hopefully after 3 rounds, we could finally have a baby of our own. After 2 unsuccessful rounds and thousands of dollars later, we decided to try IVF. We didn’t want to finance IVF so we took out some of our retirement savings. Both of us have been in law enforcement for many years so we felt like using our money we already earned would be easier than trying to take out a loan. We completed one round of IVF and were able to get 3 embryos. We had enough money leftover for one frozen transfer so we picked the very best quality embryo and prayed and prayed and prayed. The embryo did implant and I was pregnant for about 5 weeks and then sadly the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. It has been such a mental and physical struggle to want something, to want to bring a child into the world and be able to teach them to love and trust God, but as time goes on, it gets harder to push forward and keep trusting that God has a plan for us and it truly feels like God wants us to be parents together. We still have 2 frozen embryos but each transfer cycle is about $5,000, not including the medication, the trips to Atlanta, and even the extra bloodwork fees. We never wanted to really put our story out there and share it with the world because it’s personal and we have NEVER been the type to ask for money or help with anything. But we have prayed about it together and with friends and we felt led to publish our story and ask for help. All of the money will go directly to our Fertility Clinic, ACRM in Atlanta for the next transfer process. Any help is greatly appreciated, whether that is through donations or through many prayers.

“I lift up my eyes where my help comes from
I fall in the arms of the only One
Who knows the reason
For every hard season
Lord, You wrote the story that I can’t see
So even in the dark my heart will believe
There is a reason
For every hard season”
