Campaign Story

My name is Heather, I have PCOS, known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, for those of you who don’t know what that is, it is a condition in which the ovaries produce an abnormal amount of androgens, male sex hormones that are usually present in women in small amounts. The name polycystic ovary syndrome describes the numerous small cysts (fluid-filled sacs) that form in the ovaries. However, some women with this disorder do not have cysts, while some women without the disorder do develop cysts. My husband Christian of 3 years and I have been trying to conceive the last year and a half. I found out earlier this year that my fallopian tubes were closed and that is the reasoning were not able to conceive. We have been to our first appointment with the fertility doctor and got our first bloodwork done, I’m needing to make the appointment for 3 tests that are $500 all together. As we begin our IVF journey we hope to have a successful retrieval, pregnancy and a healthy baby one day.
