Campaign Story
Hi! My name is Kelsey and my husband’s name is Jedadiah.
About 6 years ago, we began our journey to starting a family of our own, something we both have wanted dearly! So, we changed our lifestyles, became more health-conscious, bought all the tests, and got our doctor’s check-ups. After about a year of no luck, I asked for more extensive testing, which they resisted. I had 2 doctors tell me I was too young, trying too hard, and that I was perfectly normal.
I then started having very painful symptoms like I’d never felt before, symptoms that would keep me bedridden. Still, the doctors gaslit me and told me nothing was wrong with me, that I needed to lose weight, even though I was already trying everything to lose with no results. We continued to try every single month for the next year or two, with endless negative tests, each one more heartbreaking than the last.
Fast forward to 2022, I was taken to the ER multiple times for the excruciating pain and severe symptoms I was having. I couldn’t get out of bed, I couldn’t use the bathroom properly, I quite literally felt like I was dying. Finally, the last time I went, they told me I had huge cysts on my ovaries and would need to see a regular physician.
After doing as they instructed, I was FINALLY diagnosed with PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), something we thought we could overcome so we could conceive! My new doctor gave me all the tools I needed to treat my disorder for about a year. My health was better than ever (or so I thought) and I was on the right track. We tried six rounds of a fertility drug (Letrozole), and then 6 more months of trying naturally but sadly, we still hadn’t conceived.
So, the past 2 months we have been seeing a fertility specialist and on the 29th of May after having an HSG, I was told the news that explains everything and completely shattered our hopes of having a child. Both of my fallopian tubes are completely blocked and there is also a polyp in my uterus. So currently there is no chance of conception, and there is no telling how long it has been this way.
We have 2 options now to give us any chance of having a family; 1. IVF (close to $10,000 a cycle) or 2. Tubal Cannulation (anywhere from $5,000-$11,000), both of which are very expensive.
Our fertility journey so far has been quite costly, and we are unfortunately in no position to come up with this large amount of money any time soon. We are asking our community to please donate, share this fundraiser, or even just pray for us.
