Campaign Story

My name is Lauren and my wife Kris and I have been trying to grow our family. Unfortunately I have polycystic ovarian syndrome (pcos) and due to medical conditions she cant carry. We have started this journey in the beginning of 2023 with our first IUI cycle in May.  We had implantation but unfortunately it did not stay viable. This year has been a whirlwind for us as we both have been working more and more in attempts to fulfill our dream. Inflation is killing us but we will not let that be the reason we dont succeed. If you know us, you would understood when I say.. if love could pay for a baby we would be good. We both have so much love to give to others and are praying to be able to provide this same love to our own.

We’re ready for the next IUI cycle but with everything that price has gone up. The treatment and procedures are 40 % higher than they were when we started 10 months ago. We also have to pay for sperm through a sperm bank which is not cheap. We picked our donor and have some vials ready in storage. We will have to pay to get the vials out of storage and to have them shipped,  then pay for the procedure. Additionally on top of the treatment medications I’ve been having to do physical therapy due to some other health problems to become healthier to carry to term. While continuing treatments and procedures we have to travel out of the area and rearrange our work schedules (neither of our jobs have paid time off).

I have a beautiful step daughter and an adopted son who I love more than anything but we’re empty nesters currently.  We were foster parents and had 18 kids throughout a few years. Each and every child made an impact on our hearts and we provided love and treated them like our own.  We now want our own more than anything. We have been married for 6 years and are loving moms who have so much more love to share. We will be trying more iui treatments and if that doesn’t work we will be looking towards surrogacy/private adoption.

We have a beautiful home with a room ready to become a nursery.

It’s really hard to share this, emotional time in our lives, with everyone. I hope this can remind people that you never truly know what one is going through. So in a world where you can be anything, be kind!
