Campaign Story

Hello!
We are officially the Gougler family. I say “officially” because my husband, Clint, adopted our son, Kent, in the middle of the pandemic. Clint and I (Aly) met while I was only 4 months pregnant with Kent. We dated until he was 3 years old when we got married. We immediately began the adoption process so we could all officially be named “Gougler”. We have been struggling to give Kent a sibling. Clint and I were both raised “only children” and we pray to give Kent a sibling. He originally asked for a baby sister, but now that he realizes that babies don’t play with RC cars and ride power wheels, he’s all for a brother! He didn’t want a little brother stealing his toys (LOL)! We have been pregnant several times, but have ended up with ectopic pregnancies. The ectopic pregnancies are due to damage in my fallopian tubes. I developed an infection in my uterus and tubes post child birth that was not caught for a few years. We didn’t realize this was an issue until we decided to start trying for a baby and experienced recurrent loss. This landed us in a specialists office where we received the news that my tubes were a wreck. The chances of us having another baby are extremely slim without IVF. IVF would bypass my damaged tubes entirely! We battled with the thought of IVF for over a year before finding a doctor who respected or ethical concerns and we feel very confident in the process under him! We were all good to go until my husband got sick with Covid and ended up with a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in his lung) and lost his job at the same time. He was given a less than 30% chance at survival. The day before they discovered the PE, I found out I was pregnant! We conceived naturally before moving forward with IVF! We felt this was “meant to be” and knew that God was going to save my husband for our baby. My husband pulled through after 3 weeks in the hospital! However, the baby did not. Once again…ectopic. We depleted our IVF savings to help with my husbands hospital bills and survival during this time. We appreciate any and all donations. $5 will help get us to our goal! If it has been put on your heart to donate to our family, we would appreciate it. If you cannot donate, please keep us in your prayers as we continue on this journey! Thank you so much.
