Hi everyone,

If you’re reading this, thank you for taking the time to learn about our story.

My name is Melissa, and my husband, Kayed, have one dream—to become parents together.

Before I met Kayed, I experienced every parent’s worst nightmare. I lost both of my beautiful daughters.

My oldest daughter, Sapphire, passed away unexpectedly from SIDS when she was just 10 months old. A short time later, I became pregnant again with my daughter, Harmony. She was born at only 24 weeks, weighing just one pound. She fought so incredibly hard for one month, but after suffering a Grade IV brain bleed and developing a severe bowel infection that her tiny body couldn’t fight because she had virtually no immune system, she passed away as well.

There are no words to describe losing a child—let alone two. They will always be a part of me, and I carry their memory in my heart every single day.

Years later, I was blessed to meet my husband, Kayed. He has loved me through my grief, supported me through countless medical challenges, and has stood beside me every step of the way as we’ve dreamed of building a family together.

Unfortunately, after undergoing open-heart surgery to replace my tricuspid valve and receiving a pacemaker, my doctors have told us that carrying another pregnancy would put my life at significant risk. As heartbreaking as that news was, we are incredibly grateful that gestational surrogacy gives us another chance to become parents.

While surrogacy gives us hope, it also comes with an overwhelming financial cost that is simply beyond what we can afford on our own. Between surrogate compensation, legal fees, medical expenses, IVF costs, insurance, and escrow, the journey can cost well over $100,000.

That’s why we are humbly asking for help.
