Our Story:

It was serendipity when Henry and I met 16 years ago in school. It was destiny when we got married 3 years ago. We were excited to finally start life together and grow a family. For three years, my life was measured in cycles of quiet hope and whispered prayers. Like so many in this community, I believed that parenthood was a destination just over the next horizon. I didn’t know then that my path would not only be paved with physical loss, but also with a strengthening of my spirit that I never thought possible.

My journey took a traumatic turn when what should have been a beginning became an emergency. After a diagnosis of a left ectopic pregnancy, I underwent a laparoscopy and the removal of my left Fallopian tube. While the physical and emotional recovery was gruelling, we remained hopeful, I told myself that I still had a chance, my right tube would bring me my miracle. However, only four months later, we were devastated by a second ectopic pregnancy on the right side. This resulted in a bilateral salpingectomy, rendering natural conception physically impossible and leaving IVF as our only biological path to a baby.

We refused to let these losses be the end of our story. We immediately transitioned into our first IVF cycle, putting our hearts and resources into the process. Unfortunately, that cycle did not result in a pregnancy. While “failure” is a heavy word to carry, we chose to view that experience as a diagnostic roadmap. It taught us more about my body’s response to stimulation and the specific hurdles we need to overcome.

Our Next Planned Steps:
Our medical team has advised that we are ready for a second attempt, but with a more strategic approach. Our next planned step is a full IVF cycle including Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT). After everything my body has been through, PGT is essential to ensure we are transferring the healthiest embryo possible and maximizing our chances of success.

We have the medical roadmap and the resilience to keep going. After £17,000 spent on a failed IVF cycle, and exhaustive testing, our savings are gone. Losing my job due to treatment related absences added a heavy layer of stress. This isn’t just a financial burden, it’s a constant weight on my family as we fight for our only hope which is IVF. We are simply seeking the final piece of support to help us turn these years of loss into a lifetime of joy.
The funds raised would be the bridge to our next cycle. It will specifically cover Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) to ensure embryo viability, as well as medication costs, consultations, and lab tests. Additionally, it will fund the frozen embryo transfer (FET) and essential travel and accommodation for treatment. Each pound will go directly toward the clinical and logistical steps needed to finally bring our baby home.
My bilateral salpingectomy may have changed my anatomy, but it didn’t touch my spirit. That is thanks to a family that prays for us daily and a community that reminds us we are more than our diagnosis. The funds raised would turn their encouragement into action, and their prayers into a reality. We have the love, we just need the means.
