Campaign Story
March 2026 update: unfortunately we lost our IVF pregnancy at 10 weeks in January. We were so heartbroken as we thought we were finally going to be parents after almost 10 years of struggles. As we move forward, we are lucky to be able to try again. What is unlucky, is that we now need to come up with another $10,000 on top of everything we have already spent to try again. 2024:
We are Alexis and Derik, and this is our story! 🙂
We met 12 years ago and have been married 9.5
In 2016, on the day of my bridal shower, one month before our wedding, I fell very ill, and was later diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. This is on top of chronic headaches and endometriosis. This trifecta has unfortunately made me unable to carry a child.
We must go through IVF to create our own embryos. We are lucky enough to be able to use our own! We got even more lucky and unbelievably grateful for my best friend of 28 years, stepping up to carry for us. Because of this selfless amazing gift, we have the opportunity to try and have our own child.
We have been through so many trials and tribulations in our 10 years, that we are more ready than ever to make this work.
This is where we need your help! This process will be around $50,000-$75,000. Obviously very expensive. Any money that we cant get in Grants and fundraising, we will have to take out a loan for.
