Campaign Story
My husband and I have known each other since childhood, were best friends in middle school, and finally began dating our senior year of high school. We have officially been together for 10 years now. I am an early childhood special education teacher who works in a classroom that supports students with a variety of disabilities (autism, social emotional disorders, development delays, physical disabilities, etc). My husband works for Polaris which is his dream job as he is a power sport fanatic. We bought our first home in 2020 after delaying our wedding due to covid and got a dog who is the love of our life and is filling the void of our future children.
After getting married in 2021 we decided to wait a year before building our family. During that time we did our best to enjoy the time just the 2 of us with traveling and fun. In spring of 2022 we decided to begin trying for a family. After a year with no success we joined a fertility clinic to see what may be going on. After endless tests we were not able to find any reason we have not yet had success getting pregnant. We decided to begin with IUI, during our 3rd attempt we got pregnant! We were so incredibly excited and began thinking of the amazing life we would soon have with a baby. Unfortunately at the 6w5d ultrasound it showed that the baby was measuring a few days behind. The doctor was not concerned at this point so we returned the following week for another ultrasound. At that point unfortunately the baby had not grown and we eventually miscarried that sweet babe. We had regained hope and excitement and decided to continue with IUIs. We did another 3 with no success. At that point it was time to look into IVF. We had success with the retrieval but unfortunately we had a failed FET. We were heartbroken after thinking we were at a place of hope that this would be our answer. We continued on and tried another FET, this one led to an ectopic pregnancy. Another “rare” and scary event that we were forced to face. This journey has been full of heart break, fear, and unfortunately financial stress. We are now forced to step back and figure out what we can not afford in order to grow our family.
