Campaign Story

My name is Brandiss Johnson and I am 39 years old. My husband’s name is Marquis Johnson and he is 37 years old. We live in the city of Moreno Valley. We met and fell in love at our Church and at the end of this year, we will celebrate being married for six years. We have one child named Aundaya and she is four years old. She was diagnosed with a speech delay. I am a stay at home/work from home wife and mom so that I can be of service to her. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies and a Master’s in Elementary Education. My daughter was the reason for me going back to school to receive more education so that I can teach her the skills she needs so that she can learn to communicate with us more. I work for Sylvan Learning Center as a Part-Time Tutor. Did I mention I love working with children? My husband has a Bachelor’s Degree in Field Engineering and he currently works at Griffith Company as a Senior Project Engineer. He also does work on the side for our Church.

My hobbies include family time and creating memories. I am very family oriented and I like to visit different places with my family in tow. Over the summer, we enjoyed some down time at Disneyland and Las Vegas Nevada. It was the time that we needed away from work. I also enjoy watching Youtube videos about Family Life, Cooking and those with a passion for Makeup! When my husband is not working, you can find him on the couch playing video games. Marquis has a love for gaming videos and finding out what is new in the gaming world on Youtube.

Marquis and I wanted to have another child, but we were not sure if it would be possible. Before being pregnant, I suffered from ovarian cysts. When I had Aundaya, they removed one of my ovaries and fallopian tubes. My tubes were also tied. When Aundaya was diagnosed with a speech delay, we wanted to try for a sibling and expand our family so we discussed my available options which lead us to IVF. I didn’t know much about IVF and so we did some research. We had enough money to do one full round, but it ended in a miscarriage unfortunately. We have 8 frozen embryos left but are left with saving and trying to figure out what we are going to do.

Marquis and I are starting this fundraiser in hopes that we can try again and expand our family. It will be a blessing! It will also be a blessing knowing that we can continue on our journey and use our frozen embryos. After losing our baby, I knew that our journey wasn’t over. It definitely took a lot out of me but I am not giving up. As much as it hurt mentally and physically to endure a miscarriage, I know in my heart that God has another plan for us. We just don’t know what that plan is yet.
