My name is Ashly, I am 37 years old and I have stage 4 endometriosis. Endometriosis is a common health condition in women where tissues grow outside of the uterus causing severe pain and worst of all, infertility. I have undergone surgery to remove as much of the tissue as possible to try and increase my chances of a natural pregnancy. Unfortunately, during the surgery I lost an ovary and the fallopian tube. We were told after the surgery that our chances were still low of conceiving. Two years after the surgery, we found out we were pregnant and overwhelmed with joy! That joy was very short lived when our dreams were shattered by a miscarriage. We started seeking assistance from fertility doctors because we do not want to give up on our dreams of having a family. During our work up to look for IVF treatment we were told, that with all of my odds stacked against me, my chances of producing a good quality egg of my own and being successful was only a saddening 10% chance. We were also made aware that I have a fibroid in the center of my uterus that will need to be surgically removed. After processing all the grief of feeling that my body has just failed me we were given hopes of another alternative. We could do egg donation but the process was a lot more expensive than the original IVF treatment. We are asking you to help on this new path and last chance of hope by donating to our fundraiser.
