Campaign Story

My name is Darlene and I’ve been struggling with infertility for over 10 years. Unfortunately, I have been diagnosed with endometriosis and now diminished ovarian reserve. My husband and I have gone through four IUI cycles and one IVF cycle. After retrieving two eggs and having only one fertilized, we did a fresh transfer on a day three embryo that couldn’t be tested because of the high risk that it wouldn’t last until the blastocyst stage. All of our efforts failed. We have suffered through several early miscarriages and I just cannot bring myself to go through another highly medicated cycle involving several daily injections to gain one or two more eggs which most likely will be abnormal due to my “advanced maternal age”. We have thought this over and really want to expand our family. We have decided to either purchase donor eggs or adopt an embryo. The success rates are much higher with both and we can test the embryos for genetic disorders and abnormalities prior to the transfer, giving this our best chance at having a child and experiencing childbirth together. Traditional adoption was not an option for us since the cost is much higher and the process takes a lot longer. We are already in our early 40’s. Please help us raise money for our family.
