My name is Terrica, I didn’t know I could conceive until 2017 when I became unknowingly pregnant which resulted as an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy along with me having a salpingectomy procedure. Almost exactly 1 year later, I became pregnant again. We were able to find out early but my ultrasound was scheduled 2 weeks out. I ended up hospitalized the weekend prior to the ultrasound for another ectopic pregnancy. The doctor did try to save the last tube, he’d been watching my hCG levels that were at 1400 from Saturday to Monday, I was given a shot of methotrexate that Monday afternoon and was back in the emergency room an hr later. It resulted in another salpingectomy procedure. Here i am at 36 with no fallopian tubes.
Fast forward to 2021, we decided to go with IVF and were able to get everything together for 1 cycle. Everything was great and on schedule until the day before egg retrieval. My husband tested positive for covid which changed my fresh transfer to frozen. By the time they actually did the embryos out of the 7 eggs 5 took, then from there we thought we had 3 solid embryos. Imagine my surprise on transfer day when we had no transfer. The devastation and hurt I felt almost overtook me, you always feel as though you did something wrong even though you know you did everything right. All I’ve ever wanted was to be a mother, and meeting my husband showed me it was possible. I completely understand everyone reading this may not be able to donate ,but to the ones that can please do what is placed on your heart and help me make our dream a reality.
