Campaign Story

I don’t know if there is anything unique about me other than that there is only me. My name is Bonnie, I am hoping, & trying to become a single mother by choice using a sperm donor. I am a preschool teacher, as much as I love all the children in my class I still want a child of my own who I do not have to return to someone else at the end of the day. I have wanted to be a mother since I was a small child. My kindergarten teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up all those years ago I had said “a mommy.” I still want to be a mother, however I have known since I was sixteen that I had fertility issues, though it wasn’t till later I learned the specific problem. I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome frequently referred to as PCOS. A few years ago I tried to conceive using donor sperm and two Inter Uterine Insemination(IUI) attempts with my fertility doctors. I spent between five and six thousand US dollars, using my entire savings, as well as maxing out my credit card. I was not successful, which is why I am once again saving money, while also looking for possible grants or any assistance I can find that can be used to help in cover the costs. My insurance covers no portion of fertility treatments yet I am not willing to give up on making my dream of being a mother come true.
