Campaign Story

My name is Sara and I am 34 years I have been through Hell and back to get to where I am. I am a post kidney and pancreas transplant recipient and partially blind from retinopathy, with a complicated medical past. I had given up on having children many years even before I was put on dialysis. After the transplant, I was told I had to wait two years before I should get pregnant. Taking my medication religiously for preparation. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for a little over two years now and I had found out about 4 months that my fallopian tubes are blocked. I was told that it would be dangerous to get surgery. I was heartbroken, and I still am. Our doctor said that the best and most effective way was IVF. We have been going through the steps so far, seeing all the necessary people and doing all the tests I need. But we’ve hit a hard wall with the draining of our accounts. I can’t stop feeling like I wasn’t meant to have children, but I don’t want to give up. My husband and I wasnt to have a family. It;s the only thing I’ve wished for.
