Campaign Story

My name is Ashley, and I am an ICU RN. I was blessed with a beautiful baby girl in August 2021. I was pre-eclamptic, and was induced. My labor was surprisingly easy; however, my placenta was retained afterwards and I ended up hemorrhaging. I almost lost my life on that day, but by some miracle, I survived.

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over a year and a half now with no success. We underwent fertility testing and thankfully found no abnormalities other than the fact that I have a low AMH level. According to my fertility doctor, this means that although I am 27, I will be going through menopause early as I have premature ovarian failure. It was recommended to us that IVF was our best option.

Unfortunately, my husband, who has been actively trying to get into the fire department for over two years now, was let go from his job, and we could not afford treatment at that time. We have undergone one round of IUI, then decided to just keep trying naturally since it was unsuccessful. Luckily, my husband just recently started the hiring process for the fire department. Although things are looking up, the anxiety of going through menopause early and losing eggs each month has pushed us to the decision that IVF is our best option. We are starting this page with hopes of attaining some assistance for the process.
